Pushpa: The Rise – Part 1 is a 2021 Indian Telugu-language action drama film[5] written and directed by Sukumar. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers in association with Muttamsetty Media, it stars Allu Arjun as the titular character alongside Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil (in his Telugu debut). The first of two cinematic parts, the film depicts the rise of a coolie in the smuggling syndicate of red sanders, a rare wood that grows only in the Seshachalam Hills of Andhra Pradesh state.

Devi Sri Prasad composed the film's score and soundtrack while the cinematography and editing are performed by Miroslaw Kuba Brozek and Karthika Srinivas–Ruben respectively. The film was released on 17 December 2021 in Telugu along with dubbed versions in Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi languages.^[6][7] The film received mixed reviews from critics with praise for Allu's performance, action sequences, dialogues, cinematography, and production values but criticism for the score, lengthy runtime, and narration.^[8][9] A sequel titled Pushpa: The Rule – Part 2 is scheduled to commence production in 2022.
